There are various hiking trails levels of difficulty distance and time.
We have brought you a sample short and easy trails that we perform quiet often in the Ramon Crater.
These are 2-3 hours hiking tracks, but it is possible to plan long tracks, with a desert camping lodging for a day or two days or even more. We can offer an accommodation at different rating, from a tent in the heart of the desert, to a zimmer or a luxurious hotel. Hiking and Jeeping Ramon crater tour information
Meeting at Mitzpe Ramon visitors center and then start the hiking trail that goes along Mitzpe Ramon’s promenade and goes all the way down to the crater, following the Israeli national trail. It’s a beautiful and easy hike that takes 2½ – 3 hours.
You will get maps and instructions about the route and you will walk independently, the trail is not circular and that is the reason why we will not walk with you, we will have to bring the jeep to our meeting point at the end of the hiking trail.The trail is easy to follow by the trail marks.
At our meeting point, we will be waiting for you, we will rest for awhile and have coffee. Afterwards we will take a jeep trail around the crater and enter to the lowest base layers that were formed in this area during the Jurassic era, we can feel and touch amazing stones and rocks, clay and sand in endless colors and shapes then we continue our tour and drive to Saharonim spring and the ancient Nabatean Khan. We walk a bit around and then continue our tour down on Dekalim ascent to Nekarot horseshoe canyon ,a dry river bed ,stop for a coffee break in one of the most beautiful spots and continue on driving through wady Ardon and it’s dykes (geological phenomenon),We stop under the shade of the Acacia trees and get to know the desert world of plants and wildlife.
Next we will visit Beerot campground for toilet break and Next we will drive across the crater on the pipeline road till the south end in Saharonim mountain, continue to the main road and then 4×4 trail to wadi Zochalim (reptiles).
Then we climb up on a 4×4 trail to the most amazing observation point at Mt. Gvanim.
From that point we can look around 360 degrees and get the whole dimension of the crater,it’s beautiful colors and shapes and get to know and understand this unique geological phenomenon.Later on, we will return to Mitzpe Ramon.
Combined tour hiking and Jeeping to the Ramon crater tour information:
Meeting at Mitzpe Ramon at your accommodation place in the morning, driving all the way down to the lowest base layers that were formed in this area during the Jurassic era, we can feel and touch amazing stones and rocks, clay and sand in endless colors and shapes then we continue our tour and drive to Saharonim spring and the ancient Nabatean Khan parking place.
Here we start our hike along the Nekarot horseshoe trail. Following the Israeli national trail. It’s a beautiful and easy hike that takes 21/2- 3 hours.
You will walk independently while we will have to drive around to the end of the hiking trail and meet you there.
The trail is in the beautiful wadi Ramon and the ruins of Khan Saharonim a 2000 year old khan on the famous Nabatean incense route. Wadi Ramon joins Wadi Nekarot and we will continue our trail surrounded by the massive boulders and the deep canyon walls. Later we will climb back on the Nabtean trail, back to our jeep. After a coffee break in one of the most beautiful spots and continue on driving through wadi Ardon and its dykes (geological phenomenon) ,We stop under the shade of the Acacia trees and get to know the desert world of plants and wildlife. Shalom–will be visiting Mitzpeh Ramon with my wife, daughter and twin 9 year old grandsons from 6/23-25–are interested in a hiking/jeep tour on the 24th(4-6 hours) and possibly a morning trip in Sde Boker area on the 25th–we need to get to Jerusalem by late afternoon on the 25th and would like to take public transportation—where would be the best place to catch the bus? and would you be able to drop us off at the station on the 25th after the tour—my wife and I lived in Israel in the 70s and want our grandsons to have the experience of traveling on Egged–we are flexible and look forward to hearing your recommendations as to what would work well for a multigenerational/active family –look forward to hearing from you–Jay Lazier

A professional tour guide, authorized by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism will lead the tour and will be your personal tour guide, the guidance will be in English.
We will be your jeep drivers and your tour guides, sorry but we cannot offer you a self-driving tour due insurance restrictions, prices listed below are for one jeep and a guide.

The Ramon crater 2 1/2 hours tour:
A short introduction tour to the eastern Ramon crater. Starts from Mitzpe Ramon and down on road 40 to the depths of the crater, leave the paved road and climb up on a 4×4 trail to the most amazing observation point at Mt. Gvanim.From that point we will have a panoramic view, 360 degrees around and the whole dimension of the crater,it’s beautiful colors and shapes, next.we will continue driving on 4×4 trails to wadi Zochalim (reptiles valley) and cross the road to wadi Gvanim. We will stop under the shade of the Acacia trees and get to know the desert world of plants and wildlife.
Next we will drive across the crater on the pipeline road, visit Beerot campground for refreshment and next we will visit one of the rehabilitated Quarries. We get back on the highway and drive back to Mitzpe Ramon.

The Ramon crater 4 hours tour:
The tour starts at Mitzpe Ramon in a very beautiful observation point at the Camel lookout point. Zin valley 2½ hours tour information:
We meet at Ben Gurion’s tomb at Sde Boker , drive down to the Zin valley on the serpentine route then along the gorge of wadi Zin , towards Ein Aqev ,one of the only desert springs that abundant with clear water throughout the year. Few minutes walk from the parking lot and we are at the water spring. We can dip in the cool pool and rest for awhile , then we will return back to our jeeps and climb up to the road.
The price for a jeep and a guide: 800 shekels
Zin valley 4 hours tour information:
We meet at Ben Gurion’s tomb at Sde Boker , drive down to the Zin valley on the serpentine route then along the gorge of wadi Zin , towards Ein Aqev ,one of the only desert springs that abundant with clear water throughout the year.Few minutes walk from the parking lot and we are at the water spring. We can dip in the cool pool and rest for awhile , then we will return back to our jeeps drive through the Zin valley towards ein Zik and ein Shaviv ,the largest oasis in the Negev desert.we walk around the oasis .This oasis is known as one of the centering of the Poplar trees, known as the Euphrates poplar, many palm trees, and a unique flora and fauna around the scene.We will take a coffee break in the shade and then drive back to the main road through the Zin accent.

All our activities are insured and our vehicles carry “desert vehicle” license following the ministry of tourism laws.
The tours are launched by your personal reservation, by your time and date choice, and defined as a private tour.
If the weather conditions will be difficult and stormy and it would be impossible to travel the desert tracks, we will have to change the itinerary and possibly in the most extreme and rare conditions to cancel the trip at all.
Sometimes it is possible to join an existing group, but we cannot guarantee that it will actually come out on the same track and time you want.
